Officials of the Government Railway Police (GRP) also accompanied the city police. The police personnel also entered trains and checked some coaches thoroughly. Even some passengers sitting in the trains were also frisked and their ID proofs were checked to verify their identity. Passengers were also told to alert the railway police if they notice any suspicious bag or person.
Meanwhile, with an aim to strengthen public safety and security under the ‘SecurePark Ops’, a parking inspection was carried out, focusing on the surveillance and security of open parking spaces throughout the city, the ADCP said, adding that the objective of the drive was to deter illegal or suspicious parking activities, enhance the safety of public spaces for commuters and residents, increase police visibility and strengthen community trust and collect data on parking usage patterns for future improvements.
He said multiple open parking areas were inspected through the Vahan app and on-the-spot verification of parked vehicles was carried out. The police remain committed for public safety during the festival season. He also urged residents to stay alert and inform the police if they get any information about any suspicious person or thing.
