The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police conducted a dedicated enforcement drive to curb illegal parking across major roads, markets and public areas in the city. This special operation was aimed to ease traffic congestion, ensure smooth movement and promote civic discipline among residents.

The drive is being monitored by ACP Traffic-I Jatin Bansal and ACP Traffic-II Gurdev Singh who said that under the campaign, over 500 challans had been issued to vehicle owners for unauthorised parking at key traffic points, markets and congested areas. Alongside enforcement, awareness drives were also being conducted to educate citizens about the importance of disciplined parking and the legal consequences of violations, they said.

Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma said wrong parking not only causes traffic jams but also poses serious safety risks. He reiterated that strict action would continue against habitual offenders and that the police remained committed to improving urban mobility through responsible enforcement and community awareness.
