Cops get training in crime tracking

Police personnel of the Ahmedgarh, Amargarh and Malerkotla circle offices received a refresher course on the various elements of crime and criminal tracking network systems (CCTNS) during workshops and seminars held in the region, under the supervision of SSP Gagan Ajit Singh.

The exercise was undertaken with the intent to update officials regarding the latest systems of collecting, recording, classifying, storing and transferring information at regional and national levels, besides enabling police personnel to gain professional competence and be at par with their counterparts at national and international levels.

Appreciating personnel at various levels for their enthusiastic responses to the sessions, the SSP said that the information about the portal would enable them to make use of a centralised repository of crime-related data across the nation.

“As the system enables the seamless sharing of information between different law enforcement agencies, the efficiency of our officials would be enhanced after the training,” said Gagan Ajit Singh.

The SSP said access to relevant data would help in faster and more effective investigation and investing officers would be able to anticipate and identify crime patterns, trends and hotspots for various categories of crimes.

Registration of Zero FIR, transfer of the Zero FIR to specific police stations, date entry, case updation, preparation and uploading of reports on inline system and preliminary knowledge about the interpol criminal justice system, were cited as the various aspects illustrated during the sessions.
