Cops nab fraudster, recover 79 ATM cards
The Dakha police have arrested a fraudster for cheating people by withdrawing money after exchanging ATM cards. The police recovered 79 ATM cards from the accused, identified as Sumit Kumar of Kot Mangal, Ludhiana.
Police officials said they had received a tip-off regarding the accused having defrauded several people by exchanging their ATM cards on the pretext of helping them withdraw money from the ATM. The accused would stand inside ATM kiosks and whenever anyone would try to withdraw cash, he would note their password. He would also volunteer to help people and exchange cards in the process.
