Jaskaran Singh of Bhumaddi village in Ludhiana district has once again brought laurels to the region by achieving an All-India Rank of 240 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

During his third attempt, two years ago, he had cleared the examination and was selected for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) but continuing his pursuit to becoming an IAS officer and make his parents’ dream come true he appeared for the fourth time and accomplished his target.

Jaskaran’s father, ASI Jagmohan Singh, a wireless operator at Khanna Sadar police station, attributes his son’s traits of discipline, dedication and determination to his grandfather who was also an ex-serviceman.

Khanna DSP Kuldeep Singh Bhatti said police personnel were proud of the achievement of their colleague’s ward.

Bhumaddi Sarpanch Harmandeep Singh said Jaskaran’s parents had sacrificed their comforts for their son and daughter. Jaskaran is an engineer, while his sister is settled in Canada.
