A case of assault on a couple has come to light from the Bhattian area on the Jalandhar Bypass here. Bike-borne youths beat up a person standing outside a house with his wife and son. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed outside the house. The man and his wife were injured in the scuffle and have been admitted to a private hospital.
The fight occurred over parking a tractor-trailer in the street. As per information, a person used to park sand-laden tractor-trailers in the area. Many times, area residents opposed the same as parking of the vehicle led to traffic jams. Even before the incident, the suspect was stopped from parking the vehicle in the street.
The injured man, Ronit Mishra, said some people in the area indulge in illegal sand mining, due to the same, tractor-trailers were often parked in the street, which leads to traffic jams. Sand is brought into the area after illegal mining.
“If somebody tries to stop tractor-trailer owners from parking the vehicles, he or she will get a similar treatment,” he said.
On Wednesday night also, he tried to stop the person from parking a tractor-trailer in the street. He did not say anything at that time but after some time, a biker came to the area with his companions and started creating a ruckus.
