The management of Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital, Model Town, today added 20 new beds to their Covid care centre.

To tackle the pandemic in the region, mass media teams on Tuesday turned up to the next phase of their campaign in which they made people aware of getting their sampling done.

The mass media teams are clearing queries of people and urging them to get their sampling done. With more sampling, more people can be cured at the initial stage. Sampling is important to break the chain of the virus.

Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, said as asymptomatic persons were also coming positive now, maximum sampling was the only way to ascertain whether the person had contracted the virus or not. Hence, to rule out any suspicion, the department had increased its testing capacity extensively.

The district administration has also developed a mobile app, ‘Home Isolation Ludhiana’, through which Covid patients can apply for home isolation by sitting at their homes.

Earlier, the residents who were tested positive for Covid, had to visit government hospitals for applying for home isolation, but now they can do so by simply using the app.
