CP Cricket Academy, Ludhiana, beat Liberals Academy, Mohali, by 72 runs in a pool B league match in the ongoing First Sodhi Inter-Academies (U-18) Cricket Tournament here on Saturday.

Batting first, after winning the toss, CP Cricket Academy scored a decent total of 244 runs after losing six wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Their innings revolved around Yuvraj Sharma (92 runs), Balraj Singh (42) and Aarav Aggarwal, who made 38 runs. Vishal took two wickets for Liberals Academy and Amit Pal, Adarsh Chouhan secured apiece each.

In reply, Liberals Academy scored 172 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted overs. Skipper Amit Pal was the highest scorer, contributing 53 runs. Monit Kumar scored 31, Adarsh contributed 19 and Devansh chipped in with 16 runs.

For the winning side, Akshit Kaushal and Gurtej Singh claimed two wickets each, while Anshtaj Grewal, Hiren Chaudhary and Sargun secured one.
