Cultural night organised at vet varsity’s girls hostel

The girls hostel at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) hosted a cultural night, ‘Mehfill-e-Qurbat,’ that was marked by vibrant performances and lively music. Students showcased their diverse talents through cultural items, including dance performances, musical acts, and skits, keeping everyone engaged and entertained. The highlight of the evening was an energetic dance-off to the latest beats, celebrating the spirit of camaraderie and unity.

Dr Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, along with his wife Pawanjeet Gill, graced the occasion as the chief guests. Dr Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Students’ Welfare, also attended the event with his spouse. Dr Gill praised the students for their remarkable performances and emphasised the importance of such events in providing a healthy outlet for stress relief. He said these activities fostered creativity and well-being, allowing students to relax and recharge for their academic pursuits.

Wardens Shabnam Sidhu and L Geeta Devi were also lauded for their organisation of the event.

The night was a celebration of talent, togetherness, and the vibrant culture of the university, leaving students with memories that will last a lifetime.

Students shine at north zone youth festival

The 38th Association of Indian Universities (AIU) North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival was hosted by Panjab University, Chandigarh, recently. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University’s (GADVASU’s) contingent of 52 members participated

in 20 events, including

literary, fine arts, music, sculpture and dance.

Around 1000 students from 21 universities from the region participated in the festival. The students of the university won seven positions in different events. They secured the fourth position in skit, mime, collage-making, and installation, and the fifth spot in on-the-spot painting, debate, and

clay modelling event.
