Girls students of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar branch, have excelled in the judo competition at the DAV State-Level Games, held in Ludhiana.
Students of the various DAV Public Schools from across the state participated in these games in the U-14 and 17 categories and those from this school gave an account of their sporting prowess by winning four golds, three silvers and one bronze medal.
In the U-14 section, judokas from DAV, BRS Nagar, emerged the overall champions and in the U-17 group, they finished as the second runners-up.
In the U-14 age category, Madalsa secured the gold medal in below 32 kg weight group, Yadvi Dhanda won the gold medal in below 36 kg weight section and Haizel Thukral emerged triumphant in the below 40 kg weight group.
Hiti Jain clinched silver in the below 44 kg weight category in the U-14 section, Hetvi Bajaj won bronze in below 50kg and Agamjot Kaur secured the silver in 50 kg plus section.
In the U-17 group, Anahatveer Kaur got the silver medal in below 40 kg weight category and Krishna Sachdeva clinched the gold medal in below 48 kg weight section. Madalsa, Haizel Thakur, Yadvi Dhanda, Hiti Jain, Agamjot Kaur, Anahatveer Kaur and Krishna Sachdeva have been selected to take part in the DAV National Games.
