Ludhiana: Arya Yuva Samaj Unit of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, organised the investiture ceremony for its newly inducted Arya Yuva Samaj volunteers. The event commenced with the recital of mantras from the Vedas and soulful bhajans which added a spiritual touch to the event. Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar adorned ceremonial badges on the uniforms of the volunteers. The volunteers were apprised of the life journey of Arya Samaj’s saintly mentors and foundational principles of the Arya Samaj. The students vowed to serve their school and community with their heart and soul.

A new student council was welcomed at Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative Public School with a ceremonial investiture on the school premises. The event commenced with a speech by Principal Dr Manisha Gangwar. She emphasized the role of leadership in upholding the values and ethos of Drishti.

Victoria Public School, Lehra, recently hosted a career guidance seminar, featuring Sumit Wason, assistant director, UPES, Dehradun, as the keynote speaker. Wason delivered an engaging and motivational address, sharing his own mantras of success along with real-life examples of renowned personalities. His insights provided the students with practical strategies and a perspective on their career paths.

Bhartiya Vidya mandir

With the aim to nurture responsible citizens, World Population Day was observed with enthusiasm at BVM, Sector 39, Chandigarh road, with a series of activities for the students of classes I to XI. The activities included teacher talk, documentary screening, poster-making, slogan-writing, quiz and a mono act on gender equality. Information on the adverse effects of population explosion on natural resources was conveyed emphatically with solutions to preserve the resource for the future generations. Principal Upasna Modgil said there was a need to work on war footing to ensure fertility rate is brought down to a sustainable level.

Ryan international school

A workshop was organized by resource person Harjot for Class X students at Ryan International School. Highlights of the workshop included life recycling, economical living and techniques for reducing carbon footprint. During the workshop, Harjot explained to the students how small changes in our daily lives could have a positive impact on the environment.

Nankana Sahib Public school

Jashanpreet Singh Dhillon, a student of Class IX at Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, has brought laurels by winning the second position in two different competitions. He won the second place in a turban-tying competion organised by Prabandhak Committee Gurdwara Patti Bhoju, Badundi. Jashanpreet also won the second prize in a ‘length of the hair’ competition organised at Latala village. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 200. Congratulating him, Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich said, “This is a big achievement especially when Punjabis are blindly following the West.”
