The second day of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Inter-College Youth Festival witnessed a display of creativity, intellect and artistic brilliance as students from various constituent colleges competed in a series of engaging events throughout the day. The atmosphere at the venues was filled with energy and gusto as young artists translated their imagination into captivating visuals and the budding speakers showcased their oratory skills, leaving everyone spellbound.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, was the chief-guest during the morning session. Dr Gosal appreciated the efforts put forth by the participating teams and encouraged them to become instruments of change in the glorious saga of the university.
During the morning events, participants captured frames with striking precision in the photography competition, while on-the-spot painting and cartooning events brought to life themes of environmental harmony and youthful expressions through vivid strokes and satire. The calligraphy contest highlighted the beauty of letters and words, blending traditional scripts with modern flair, while the rangoli-making event laid bare splashes of colour and creativity.
The chief-guest of the evening session Dr Dharam Singh Sandhu, Member, Educational Tribunal, Government of Punjab, applauded the university’s age-old legacy that is carried forth by its proud fraternity and motivated the participating teams to give their best with utmost conviction and belief in their potential.
The evening events showcased spirited participation in mehndi, graffiti, elocution and extempore competitions. Participants in the mehndi event displayed intricate designs inspired by traditional motifs and modern patterns, while the graffiti competition turned plain walls into lively pieces of expression, portraying youthful creativity and social messages. The elocution and extempore events showcased the intellectual depth and confidence of the students. The contestants impressed the judges and the audience with clarity of thought and persuasive delivery in the elocution event on the topic ‘The mirror never lies’.
