Fifteen more candidates have filed their nomination papers for the elections of the District Bar Association (DBA), Ludhiana, on Tuesday.
With multiple contenders for key positions, the elections are expected to be a closely contested affair. The voting is scheduled to take place on February 28.
Returning officer Lokesh Batta confirmed that the nomination process has picked up pace, with several senior and young advocates entering the fray.
For the post of president, Gurpreet Singh Arora and Sanjeev Malhotra have filed nominations on Tuesday. The position of vice-president has attracted four contenders — Anil Saggar, Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Gursimar Singh Alag and Rakesh Gupta.
For the post of secretary, Harsh Sharma, Himanshu Walia and Hari Om Jindal have filed their nominations.
For the post of the joint secretary, Rimaljit Singh has filed his papers on Tuesday. For the post of finance secretary, Mayank Chopra and Ved Bhushan have entered the race.
Additionally, three candidates — Karan Tiwari, Munish Kumar and Samar Sharma — have filed nominations for the executive member positions.
