DC Jain inaugurates Atal Tinkering Lab at Bal Bhawan

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday inaugurated the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) at Bal Bhawan, hailing it as a transformative space for young innovators.

Accompanied by Assistant Commissioners Dr Pragati Rani, Payal Goyal, and others, Jain described the lab as a hands-on workspace where children could turn ideas into reality through do-it-yourself projects. It will equip young minds with science, technology, engineering and other skills, including robotics, using specialised tools and equipment.

Jain commended four students—Samaira Gupta, Aarush Singhal, Raunav Kalra and Arnav Garg (two each from Sat Paul Mittal School and Sacred Heart Convent International School)—for their tireless efforts in establishing the lab for the children of Bal Bhawan. He also extended a special thanks to the Aryaman Foundation, which will provide teachers twice a week for computer classes to empower the children, and the Do Good

Foundation, whose volunteers regularly teach and mentor at the centre.

The inauguration coincided with the Diwali celebrations, blending the festival of lights with love, warmth and cheer. Highlights included a Diwali carnival for Bal Bhawan children and captivating dance performances by students from Sangita’s Studio of Performing Arts and Rhythm Wellness Center.

Jain honoured teachers from the Do Good Foundation and volunteers for their selfless service, presenting them with appreciation certificates.

Red Cross secretary Navneet Joshi, Avon Cycles Joint MD Mandeep Pahwa and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
