Decomposed body found in Model Town Extension house
A decomposed body of an elderly man was found in a house at Model Town Extension last night. The body was lying on the sofa in the room. People became suspicious and informed the police when bad smell spread in the area. The body seemed to be 10 days old.
After the police reached the house, cops entered the house and took the body of the deceased into custody and have kept it in the mortuary of the civil hospital for postmortem. The deceased has been identified as Prabhsharan Singh (59).
According to information, Prabhsharan was living alone in the house. His wife had died about a decade ago, while his son died about three years ago. He was not seen in the area for the last 10 days.
Model Town police station ASI Baldev Raj said that it appeared to be natural death.
Man found dead in park
Panic spread in the area when a man was found dead in a park opposite the Jeevan Nagar police post under suspicious circumstances. A passerby saw the body and informed the police, which reached the spot and started the investigation.
The police tried to identify the deceased, but no one knew anything about him. A key and a Rs 5 note was found in his pocket.
Focal Point police station SHO Amandeep Singh Brar said that froth was coming out of the mouth of the deceased and there were no visible injury mark on the body. Preliminary investigations showed that the person seemed to be around 25 years of age and might have died by suicide by consuming some poisonous substance. —
