Following a news report published recently in The Tribune about unhygienic conditions at Government Primary School, Sunet, District Education Officer (Primary) Ravinder Kaur today visited the school. Though she said the purpose of the visit was about providing a grant to the school to come up with better infrastructure, she agreed that the school lacked discipline and cleanliness.

Talking to The Tribune, the DEO said a grant had to be provided to the school for which committees were formed to ensure that the grant was spent well on infrastructure where students studied in comfortable conditions.

On the small basement in the school, the DEO said it would be ensured the funds were spent as per requirement. She said instructions were passed on to school authorities to maintain a clean environment.
