District Education Officer (Elementary education) Ravinder Kaur and Deputy District Education Officer Manoj Kumar on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss plans to improve education in primary wing.

Congratulating everyone on the New Year, the DEO said the last year’s pending work would soon be finished, and for this, she expected to get the cooperation from and all blocks and schools.

The Education Department will motivate the block officers to complete departmental work on time this year.

The DEO also instructed staff to start holding meetings for better enrolment of students in schools. She announced that in this session, a book bank would be started to provide books to children.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind.
