The new website of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) (trade.gov.in) will go live on August 28. The new website will be carry information for exporters, including about new foreign markets and products as well as the facility of contact with the Indian consulates.

In this regard, the government has ordered all the agencies of the country to issue old pending certificates before August 28.

A meeting of all the agencies issuing Certificate of Origin to the exporters was held with the officials of the directorate. In the meeting, it was informed that exporters would have to register on the new website to get the Certificate of Origin after August 28. The certificate is mandatory for exporters to export to most countries. The issuing process became online in 2021. These certificates are of preferential and non-preferential category.

FOPSIA president Badish Jindal said all the exporters had been informed about the new website. The registered associations of the Ministry of Commerce will also be register themselves on the new website and approve these applications. For this, Aadhaar authentication will now be mandatory instead of digital signatures.
