District swimming championship ends, Fin Flyers Club bag overall trophy

The Fin Flyers Club swimmers stamped their superiority, securing 263 points to clinch the overall trophy in the two-day Ludhiana District Swimming Championship for sub-junior, junior boys and girls, men and women that concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University swimming pool, here, on Monday. The Swim Force Club obtained 261 points to finish as runners-up.

In the sub-junior section, Ludhiana Club garnered 28 points to emerge winners in the girls’ section while in the boys’ group, Fin Flyers got 24 points to lift the winners’ trophy.

In the junior section, Fin Flyers Club with 74 points and PAU Club with 79 points fetched the winners’ trophy in the girls and boys sections, respectively, while in the senior section, Fin Flyers Club collected 85 points to bag the trophy in the women’s category whereas Swim Force Club secured 66 points to lift the winners’ trophy in the men’s section.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, gave away prizes to the winners. Nirmal Jaura, Director, Students’ Welfare, PAU, was the guest of honour at the prize distribution function.

Balraj Sharma, honorary general secretary, Ludhiana District Swimming Association, thanked guests and congratulated position holders and officials on successful completion of the meet.
