DMCH organises 7th edition of national undergraduate medical conference

Dayanand Medical College & Hospital organised the 7th edition of the National Undergraduate Medical Conference (NUMCON 2025) recently. The two-day conference, themed “From Stethoscope to Simulation,” represents the evolving landscape of medical education, highlighting innovative teaching methodologies, simulation-based learning, and advanced clinical skill training.

The event was formally inaugurated by Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, along with Principal Dr GS Wander, Dean of Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medical Superintendents Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary and Dr Sandeep Sharma, Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Ashima Taneja and other senior faculty members.

Day one witnessed an enthusiastic response from undergraduate medical students from across the country. Registration began early in the morning, and was followed by a dynamic academic schedule comprising specialised workshops, clinical skill sessions, paper and poster presentations, panel discussions, quizzes, and domain-specific hands-on training.

Workshops were conducted in obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, critical care medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, research methodology, and basic clinical skills, offering participants a blend of practical exposure and academic enrichment.

Dr Wander expressed pride in hosting the seventh edition of the conference. He said, “NUMCON 2025 reflects our commitment to preparing future doctors who are clinically skilled, research-driven, and technologically empowered. The theme signifies the shift toward simulation-based learning, an integral component of modern medical education.”

Students won prizes in various competitions during the workshops and other events. A panel discussion on AI in medical sciences was also held. The second day featured advanced workshops, guest lectures, panel discussions, and the valedictory and prize distribution ceremony.
