Dr JPS Gill appointed new Vice Chancellor of Ludhiana veterinary university
Dr JPS Gill has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) here for a term of four years. The decision was made during the meeting of the board of management held today.
Dr Gill, currently serving as Director of Research at GADVASU since 2016, brings an impressive 34-year career and extensive expertise to the role. He has also held the position of adjunct professor at University of Saskatchewan’s Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr Gill has led numerous research projects, both internationally and nationally, and has established global collaborations with renowned universities. His guidance has significantly contributed to shaping the university’s research initiatives.
Dr Inderjeet Singh, the previous Vice Chancellor, completed his four-year term on June 11 and was given an extension until the new appointment. He was recognised for his research and expertise in breeding and management of Murrah buffalo.
