The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police continued its focused efforts to promote road safety and reduce the risk of severe injuries in two-wheeler accidents by conducting a special enforcement drive against riders driving without helmets.
The Traffic Police teams were deployed at multiple high-traffic locations, ensuring comprehensive checking. During this drive, the police issued 444 challans to individuals found riding without mandatory protective headgear.
Officials highlighted that despite repeated awareness campaigns, a section of riders continued to ignore basic safety norms, putting their lives at risk. The purpose of this initiative was not only enforcement but also to remind citizens that helmet use is a simple yet crucial measure in preventing life-threatening injuries, an official said.
