Ludhiana: The Shimlapuri police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 14 kg of poppy husk from his possession. He has been identified as Parminder Singh of Jawaddi Kalan. The investigating officer, ASI Dalvir Singh, said the police nabbed the suspect at a naka at the Kwality chowk on a tip-off. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him. TNS

Man booked for abducting minor

Ludhiana: The Jamalpur police have booked a man on the charge of kidnapping a 15-year-old girl. He has been identified as William of Tajpur. The complainant, Gudiya of the Tajpur road, told the police that on September 9 when she had gone to work, her daughter was alone at home. When she returned home, her daughter was missing. She came to know that the suspect had kidnapped her on the pretext of marrying her. TNS
