In what can be termed sheer negligence on the part of the Punjab School Education Board, students of Class VIII had to suffer unnecessarily as they were made to wait for at least two hours to take a exam.

It was Hindi exam at VDM High School, Gurmel Park, Tibba Road, and 327 students had to take the exam. The question paper parcel mentioned the total number of question papers as 327, but when it was opened by the superintendent concerned, the question papers totaled 227 and not 327.

The superintendent got the papers photocopied and the Education Department was informed. The exam which had to start at 11 am, started two hours late at 1 pm.
