English still ‘toughest’ subject in board exams
Ludhiana, February 25
English always remains one of the toughest subjects for majority of students of Board examinations, studying in government schools. Though teachers always try to provide maximum attention to the subject, it remains the “difficult” one for most of the students. The PSEB Class XII English exam will be held on February 27. Both teachers as well as students are hoping for an easy question paper.
“The English exam for Class X was tough and the students got confused. Though they took the exam, most of them were not happy as they found it difficult. The students did not get sufficient time to prepare well for all the exams as these were preponed due to the elections. The last 10-15 days are very crucial for both the students and the teachers, as that is when the queries are solved. But the winter break was prolonged and the exams were preponed, due to which very less time was given to the students for thorough preparations. The confidence of the students gets a boost when teachers solve their problems in the last days before the exams and this time, that period was missing,” said a teacher of a government school here.
One of the students, Tarun, said that English was a tough subject for most. Many had even joined tuitions to score well. “I have been going to a private tuition for two months, but still I am not very confident that I will perform well,” he said.
The teachers also feel that they will be held responsible if the students bring poor results.
