AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will launch faceless services in all Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across Punjab. The launch event in Ludhiana aims to make RTO-related services more accessible and transparent for the public.

Under this initiative, residents will no longer be required to visit RTOs for their work. Instead, they can avail services at their nearest Sewa Kendras, including applications and issuance of driving licences, registration certificates (RCs) and vehicle permits.

Varun Roojam, Administrative Secretary, Transport Department, told The Tribune that all 56 RTO-related services will now be available at Sewa Kendras.

“The idea is to provide convenience to citizens by ensuring services are delivered smoothly at their local Sewa Kendras,” he said.

Staff at these centres has been specially trained to handle the RTO-related work efficiently. In Ludhiana alone, around 50 Sewa Kendras will handle transport services.

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said that this facility would save people from repeated visits to RTOs and long waiting times.

“If any objection is raised, applicants will be informed through email or text message for submission of required documents,” said Jain, adding that the initiative will bring transparency and accountability.
