A youth returning home from work on a motorcycle was hit on the rear of his head with a heavy object by miscreants. After looting his motorcycle, cash and mobile, the suspects fled the scene. The victim remained unconscious for several weeks. After regaining consciousness, he recounted his ordeal, following which the Sadar police registered a case against unidentified assailants on the complaint of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Khanpur Road Sangowal, on Friday.
As per information, Vijay Kumar works at a factory in Haibowal. On the night of January 16, he was returning home after finishing work. When he reached near Gill Dairy at Gill village, he slowed down his motorcycle due to fog. Afterwards, one of the assailants attacked him on his head with a heavy object. After the severe blow, Vijay fell unconscious. The assailants took away his motorcycle, cash and a mobile. The next morning, when some passers-by took him to his home in an unconscious state.
Vijay Kumar said he had two sisters and a differently abled brother. The entire family’s responsibility lies on him. He also used to do overtime in the factory to earn extra money.
He said due to the assault, blood had clotted in his head. He remained unconscious for several weeks. His family took him to several doctors. Even after regaining consciousness, he was not fully recovered. Vijay appealed to the police to arrest the culprits and give them severe punishment.
