Farmer leaders from the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) staged a strong protest by burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, denouncing the policies of both leaders, which they claim threaten markets and agriculture. The effigies were burnt during the concluding sessions of subdivision and block-level demonstrations, organised in response to the Union Government’s acceptance of Trump’s policies.

Speakers at the protests alleged the PM Modi-led government had failed to protect the interests of farmers and small traders by yielding to the wishes of US President Donald Trump. They argued the implementation of these policies would harm the agriculture sector and the market. The protesting farmers made it clear that they would not allow the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government to make decisions that negatively impact the common man, including farmers and small traders.

The farmers condemned the AAP for evicting protestors from the Shambu and Khanauri borders. They accused the AAP of having a hidden agenda to assist the Union Government in continuing its harassment of the state’s farmers.
