FIR registered against PUNBUS sub-inspectors
Ludhiana, September 2
The police yesterday registered an FIR against two sub-inspectors of Punjab Roadways Ludhiana Depot identified as Amarjit Singh and Jagwinder Singh for publicly beating an unidentified woman and tearing her T-shirt at the ISBT. The police registered a case after the video of the incident went viral on social networking sites.
Bus stand police post in-charge ASI Amarjit Singh said someone had sent him a video on WhatsApp in which the accused were beating a woman in public at the ISBT.
The ASI added when the investigation started, it was found that the incident took place on March 23, 2023. Now efforts are being made to identify the woman and to apprehend the booked accused.
