Over 100 employees of the PSPCL were on their toes to rectify the problem. They were shifting the load to other grids. DS Grewal, Director, Distribution, PSPCL had come from Patiala to supervise the situation. He, along with senior officials, visited the place, where over 100 employees were already put on duty to do the needful.

“Power will be restored in the area from alternative grids while the affected grid will be put up on operation in parts — one transformer will be operational by Sunday and the second by Thursday,” Grewal said while talking to The Tribune.

Boby Jindal, owner of a dyeing unit on Tajpur Road, said were hundreds of industries in the area and residents were suffering in the absence of power due to the massive fire that broke out at the power grid on Tajpur Road on Wednesday evening.

He said industrialists were running units on generators but it was not a viable option.
