Firing at ex-MLA’s car, brother’s dispute believed to be the cause
A firing incident occurred last night at the home of a former MLA in Alamgir. The shots were allegedly fired at his car, but the ex-MLA was not inside the vehicle at the time, according to sources. The incident is believed to be linked to a dispute between the ex-MLA and his brother, with the brother’s son allegedly firing bullets.
There are rumours of cross-firing as well. Following the incident, the ex-MLA and his family have not spoken to the media about the issue. However, sources confirmed that the police had reached the ex-MLA’s house and were conducting an investigation. Police officials are not commenting on the development.
It is learned that talks of compromise were ongoing between the brothers at their house. A senior police official, who requested anonymity, said, “A police team visited the former legislator’s house, but so far, the firing has not been confirmed. No empty cartridges or bullet scars on the cars were found. It appears to be an internal family matter between the brothers. The ex-MLA has also refused to file any complaint.”
