Firing at Khanna college : Two key suspects nabbed after chase, one suffers bullet injury

The police claimed to have nabbed two key suspects involved in the firing incident occurred at AS College in Khanna. In the firing incident reported on July 27, a college peon had suffered bullet injury and two students, including a suspect, had suffered splinter injuries.
The suspects have been identified as Krishan Sahni (23) of Sector 32 A, Chandigarh road, here, and Jatin Monga (22) of Daresi. So far in the case, two other suspects, Ajay Singh (24) of Ratanheri, Khanna, and Gurpreet Singh, alias Jass (18), of Islamganj were already arrested by the Khanna police. Only one of the suspects, identified as Lovepreet Singh, alias Lavi (21), of Salaudi, Khanna, is at large in the case.
SSP, Khanna, Amneet Kondal, while addressing a press conference said on July 27, a student of AS College was attacked by another college student Ajay Singh and his four companions. The suspects had opened fire inside the college during which three persons, including Ajay, a girl student and a college peon, were injured. Ajay was arrested after the incident while Gurpreet was also nabbed by the police later.
Kondal said late on Thursday evening, after getting a tip-off regarding key suspects Krishan Sahni and Jatin Monga, the police laid a naka at Pal Majra village in Samrala. When the police team signalled the bike-borne suspects to stop, they stopped their motorcycle and started running. When the police officials were chasing them, the suspects also fired at the former. A bullet also hit the police vehicle. In retaliatory firing, Krishan suffered a bullet injury. Later, both suspects were arrested. The police also seized two illegal pistols, four cartridges, a motorcycle and a Maruti Swift car from their possession.

Krishan Sahni, Jatin had criminal past
Jatin was booked by Police Division 3, Ludhiana, on May 25, 2022, in a drug smuggling case. On July 17, 2022, Jatin was again booked by Police Division 7 on the charge of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act. On September 7, 2022, he was booked on the charges of attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy. The fourth FIR was registered on September 14, 2022, under the Arms Act as he was planning to commit a dacoity.
On April 24, 2019, Krishan was arrested in a drug smuggling case. On October 9, 2019, he was again arrested by the Moti Nagar police on the charge of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act. He was arrested on June 9, 2020, on the charge of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act. The fourth FIR was registered against him on July 18, 2022. The fifth case was registered against Krishan on September 2, 2022, by Police Division 7 on the charges of attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and under the Arms Act. The sixth case was registered by Salem Tabri police station on November 22, 2022, by the Salem Tabri police under the Arms Act.
