The victim suffered critical bullet injury in his stomach and was undergoing treatment at a hospital. The clash erupted after arguments broke out between two neighbours.

ADCP-1 Sameer Verma, who rushed to the spot to investigate the matter, said the incident occurred around 4 pm when Sanjay Sharma and his neighbour Vinod Sharma had arguments, which took the shape of a scuffle, as the former alleged that the latter had been keeping malicious intentions towards his daughter.

“On Saturday, Sanjay had called two outsiders to his house, who scuffled with Vinod, a 32-year-old man who was harassing the former’s daughter. The two unidentified persons opened fire which hit Vinod’s stomach. The injured was shifted to a hospital and an FIR is being registered against the assailants. Police parties are also conducting raids to nab the suspects,” Verma said.

He said after arrest of the suspects, the police would seize the weapons and if the same were found to be licensed, the arms licence would be cancelled.
