Speaking about the achievement, Dr Baldeep, MD of the hospital, said, “This programme will ensure that the child can thrive in a world filled with sound and communication.”

Dr Kapila said, “This is a proud moment for us and for Punjab’s medical fraternity. The introduction of this technology ensures greater precision in electrode placement and significantly improves post-operative outcomes. It is a cutting-edge system designed to provide real-time intra-operative feedback, allowing surgeons to monitor electrode placement and ensure optimal functionality of the cochlear implant.

The child’s parents expressed their deep gratitude to the medical team. The child will now undergo a structured rehabilitation programme under the guidance of Simran Kaur and the cochlear implant team. This programme will focus on developing auditory and linguistic skills.
