The first incident occurred on the Samrala road, where the robbers came in a white car. They refilled fuel in the vehicle and paid money but when they saw cash in the hand of the pump operator, all of them came out of the car. One of them reportedly had a pistol in his hand. The miscreants looted around Rs 35,000 and fled.

Later, they reached the other fuel station located on Kohara Road where they beat up workers and escaped after looting Rs 5,000.

The SHO, Machhiwara police station, inspector Harvinder Singh, said the suspects had recently looted a Kia car near Dharamkot in Moga and they were behind the loot at the two petrol pumps in Machhiwara. Toy seller attacked over argument

On Thursday night, five car-borne persons cornered a toy seller, identified as Jasvir Singh, at Neechi Mangli village on the Chandigarh road. They beaten up the victim with baseball bats. He was rushed to a hospital. A resident of the village, Parminder Singh, told mediapersons that the miscreants had started arguments with Jasvir and then thrashed him.

SHO, Focal Point, inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, said it was yet to be confirmed whether the miscreants in the case were the same suspects who looted a car near Dharamkot in Moga. It could be confirmed only after investigation. The probe was on to identify the suspects.
