Former minister remembered on 38th death anniversary
Rich tributes were paid to Joginder Pal Pandey, a former minister, who had laid down his life for the peace, unity, and integrity of the country during the time when terrorism was at its peak in the state, at a ‘shraddhanjali samaroh’ to commemorate his 38th death anniversary here on Sunday. People from all walks of life, cutting across political and social barriers, participated in the function, which was organised under the supervision of former MLA Rakesh Pandey.
Ludhiana MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring’s wife, Amrita Warring, also attended the function. Paying tributes to Pandey, she said that Congress workers should take inspiration from the life of Pandey, who worked towards strengthening the party throughout his life and laid down his life for the country.
“Pandey was a great leader who, during the black days of terrorism, braved terrorists and strived hard to unite the countrymen for the unity and integrity of the country,” she said.
