Four test positive for Covid, no death in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, September 1
Four fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in the district on Wednesday. Of them, three patients visited OPDs and one with influenza-like illness visited Flu Corner. Besides, a patient from other district has also tested positive for the virus.
There are 14 active cases in the district at present. A total of 22,86,690 samples were collected to date. The Health Department has confirmed 87,470 cases of Ludhiana district and 11,659 cases of outside district areas.
The department has confirmed 2,097 deaths due to Covid-19 in Ludhiana district, while 1,049 patients of other districts or states died of the virus here.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma congratulated the people of Ludhiana district for achieving the 20.75-lakh mark in its Covid vaccination drive.
Interacting with the residents in his weekly Facebook live session on the official page of the DPRO, Ludhiana, the DC stated that without people’s cooperation it was impossible to vaccinate such a large number of people and becoming the first district in the state to cover 20.75 lakh people in this drive that started on January 16, 2021.
