A tragic accident occurred on Kohara Road in Ludhiana, resulting in the death of a four-year-old child. The deceased has been identified as Param Jaiswal, a resident of Bhagpur. The child was hit by a speeding white car when the family had stopped at a petrol pump to refuel their motorcycle.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Sandeep Jaiswal, the family was travelling from Machhiwara to Kohara on a motorcycle on January 25 night when they stopped at the petrol pump. The four-year-old child, Param, slipped out of his mother’s grasp and walked a short distance when he was hit by the speeding car.
The driver of the car fled the scene, leaving the child critically injured. The child’s parents and bystanders rushed to the scene, but unfortunately Param succumbed to his injuries.
The police registered a case against the unidentified car driver. The victim’s body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.
Another kid crushed to death
A one-and-a-half-year-old child died after he was mowed down by a pick-up vehicle on Sunday evening. The child’s head was badly crushed in the accident. Seeing commotion in the area, the driver of the vehicle fled the spot, after which the people broke the panes of the vehicle in anger. The victim has been identified as Mohammad Anees.
Mohd Amir, deceased’s father, said that his son was playing outside their house when the driver, who was driving the vehicle rashly, crushed his son under the front wheels of the vehicle, who died on the spot.
Investigating officer ASI Rajinder Singh said that a case of causing death by negligence was registered against the vehicle driver identified as Rahul Mahajan of Khajoor Chowk.
