Fourth Tirupati Balaji Rath Yatra taken out in city

The fourth Tirupati Balaji Rath Yatra was organised in the city today. The entire route of the Rath Yatra was decked up with decorations and stalls offering eatables and prasad for the devotees accompanying the yatra.

The yatra was to start at 2 pm from the Mata Rani Temple, Jagraon Bridge, but it took off much later. The yatra covered the entire route from Jagraon Bridge to Ferozepur Road via Fountan Chowk, Ghumar Mandi and Aarti Cinema Chowk before reaching the final destination at Durga Mata Temple, Sarabha Nagar.

All along the route, stages were set up where bhajans and mantras were recited by the supplicants. Devotees started reaching the Ghumar Mandi area around 3 pm, though the rath reached the area much later.

The Ferozepur Road was festooned with colourful lights. Despite being a cold day, devotees reached the different places along the yatra’s route to get a glimpse of their beloved deity. The yatra started late at around 7 pm. It will now end at around 11 pm at Durga Mata Mandir, Sarabha Nagar.
