Gambling racket busted; 32 held, Rs 12 lakh seized
In a special campaign launched against anti-social elements, the Doraha police succeeded in bursting a major gambling racket at a banquet hall in Doraha on Monday.
Under the supervision of Dr Jyoti Yadav Bains, SSP, Khanna, SP Investigation Pawanjeet, DSP Investigation Mohit Singla, DSP Payal Hemant Kumar, Doraha SHO Akash Dutt and in-charge, CIA, Khanna, Hardeep Singh, busted the racket.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 32 persons and recovery of Rs 11,95,100 in cash and 90 US dollars.
The police team of Doraha got a tip-off that a big gambling event was being held at 3J Banquet Hall in Doraha, organised by Varinderjit Singh, owner of the banquet hall, and others. Thirty-two persons were nabbed along with the money. The police also seized six mobiles.
