The victim told the police that in 2020, the suspect, Harpreet Singh, alias Bobby, had raped her in a vacant plot in front of the Hambran Fish Market, when she was 14-year-old. She made several phone calls but when he failed to respond, the police were informed. The Ladhowal police on Tuesday registered a case against Harpreet and his father Jaspal Singh under the POCSO Act. After the registration of the case, the suspect was on the run.

SHO, Ladhowal police station, SI Gurshinder Kaur, said raids were being conducted to arrest the suspect.
