Gurnoor, Anupama and Gurleen log wins
Gurnoor Singh, Anupama Sharma and Gurleen Kaur from Ludhiana registered victories in their respective matches in the Junior Punjab State Badminton Tournament for Boys and Girls U-19 that began at Shastri Hall, near Guru Nanak Stadium here on Tuesday.
In the boys’ singles section, Gurnoor faced a stiff challenge from Suraj of Amritsar whom he overpowered in three sets 17-21, 21-16 and 21-17 while in the girls singles, Anupama beat Simran Gilhotra of Jalandhar in straight sets 21-13, 23-21 and Gurleen Kaur defeated Ananya Sharma of Amritsar 21-7, 21-16.
