Colleagues failed to arrange funds: teacher
The head teacher, Khushminder Kaur, said despite her written orders to the teachers concerned to arrange for the funds, which was to be reimbursed, and conduct the exams, the teachers did not bother to obey the orders. She was verbally told by some teachers that since funds for taking students to a field trip earlier were also not cleared, they would not contribute from their own pockets to conduct the examnations.
The suspension letter has been issued by Paramjit Singh, Director, School Education (Secondary), Punjab .
Meanwhile, the head teacher maintained that since the school authorities did not have sufficient funds, about which teachers conducting examinations were duly informed, the exams could not have been conducted yesterday.

“When the teachers refuse to listen, why should I alone be held responsible? The authorities can ask them if I had not issued the written orders to conduct the exams or arrange for the question-papers,” Kaur said.
During her suspension period, she would have to report to the DEO, Secondary Office.
