Heran boys lift hockey trophy

Heran boys proved too good for Kila Raipur as they emerged winners to lift the winners’ trophy in the Aryan Cup Hockey Tournament for Boys U-16, organised by the Aryan Hockey Club in the memory of former hockey player Jagbir Singh Grewal at the Olympian Prithipal Singh Stadium of the Punjab Agricultural University that concluded here on Sunday.

The final turned out to be a mismatch as Heran player dominated the proceedings and wrapped it up 4-0. They opened the account in the 7th minute through penalty stroke conversion by Udhamvir Singh. Gurwinder Singh made in 2-0 in the 14th minute while Gurwinder Singh scored again (3-0) and Joban Singh sounded the board in the 29th minute to seal Kila Raipur fate.

Sahibjot Singh of Kila Raipur was declared the best player of the match. Earlier, in the match to decide third position, Rampur beat Attiana 2-0.
