To address the increasing demand for specialised liver care in the city, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, has launched a free liver OPD service. This initiative will be led by Dr Nitin Shanker Behl, director, Institute of Gastro and Liver Diseases, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, along with his team, including Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, and Dr Amit Bansal. The team will be available for consultations every Thursday from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm at the hospital. This initiative aims to bring comprehensive liver care to the residents of the city.

As part of this special OPD, patients will receive free consultations, a 10 per cent discount on investigations and endoscopic procedures, and access to a customised liver screening packages. Additionally, the hospital will continue to provide holistic liver care, including dietary guidance, necessary investigations, and expert evaluation at its Special Liver Clinic, held every Thursday from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.

Dr Behl emphasised the importance of early intervention, stating: “Liver diseases often progress silently, making timely medical attention crucial for better outcomes. Through this initiative, we aim to provide accessible, high-quality liver care, ensuring early diagnosis and effective management of liver-related conditions.”
