Hotelier among two killed in road mishaps

Two persons including a hotelier died in separate road accidents in city while three others suffered injuries.
The first accident took place on Ferozepur road last night. A hotelier returning to his hotel from a friend’s party in his Polo car died after his vehicle collided with a truck while crossing the cut in front of Ansal Plaza. As per the information received, due to the high speed of car, the hotelier lost control and rammed it into the rear side of the moving truck. Due to serious injuries, the man identified as Rajanpreet Singh, succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased’s cousin Gurpreet said that Rajanpreet had gone to attend a party organised by a friend in South City. After attending the party, Rajanpreet was returning back to his hotel when he met with the tragedy. The collision was so intense that the car got badly damaged. With the help of bystanders, Rajanpreet was taken to DMC Hospital but was declared brought dead.
Rajanpreet was married and is survived by two daughters and a wife. One of his daughters is three years old while the other is just eight months old.
In another accident, a speeding Honda City car fell off a bridge near Southern Bypass on Saturday night. A youth died in the mishap while the three others who suffered injuries were undergoing treatment at a hospital. The condition of two of the injured is said to be critical. The youth identified as Bakul Jindal, who suffered serious injuries, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
As per information available, the speeding car going towards South City on the southern flyover from Ladhowal side lost its balance and fell off the bridge. Safety air bags of the car had also gone off.
After the accident, with the help of the passersby, the youth were taken to the hospital for treatment.
