The 10th Mega Naukri Mela (job fair), organised by the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU), witnessed an overwhelming response at the CICU Complex, Focal Point, Phase-5, Ludhiana. The event drew participation from numerous leading companies and hundreds of job-seeking youth from across Ludhiana and nearby areas. Even students with MBA and other higher degrees attended the job fair in search of suitable employment opportunities.

Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian also visited the job fair and handed over selection letters to some of the youth. He said this mega job fair provided an excellent platform for skilled youth to connect with potential employers and step into the workforce with dignity and readiness. “Most of these students come from economically weaker backgrounds and have been empowered through skill education and placement assistance by Sun Foundation,” he said.

Jagbir Singh of Ludhiana said he holds an MBA degree and came in search of a job, but he was not hopeful of success due to the high number of applicants and relatively fewer job openings. “I am currently working in a job that pays Rs 18,000. I came here with the expectation of getting a job that pays around Rs 22,000–25,000,” he added.

Bakhshish Singh, who holds a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology, said he had graduated from Desh Bhagat University and came to the job fair seeking employment. “Today, there is neck-to-neck competition for any job,” he said.

Speaking about the initiative, a representative from Sun Foundation stated, “Our mission is to enable youth to become job-ready, self-reliant, and confident contributors to the nation. Events like these amplify that vision by connecting skills with real employment opportunities.” The event saw participation from top recruiters including Tata Steel, Eastman, NIIT, Versatile, and more, offering positions across industries such as engineering, hospitality, IT and manufacturing.
