Thousands of devotees participated in nagar kirtan organised by Sikh bodies at Mandi Ahmedgarh today.

The event was organised under the aegis of Gurdwara Singh Sabha Parbhandak Committee, Banda Singh Bahadur Welfare Society and Kalgidhar Federation ahead of the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

Extra security arrangements were made by the police to prevent any untoward incident.

The religious procession started from Guru Teg Bahadur Chowk and passed through several parts of the town, including Railway Road, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Gandhi Chowk, Gurdwara Bhagat Namdev, Dehliz Road, Bhagat Ravidas Chowk, Shree Ram Mandir and Mahavir Marg.

A large number of vehicles carrying devotees moved through the region.

Nihangs performed kirtan and led the procession on horses. Various social and religious organisations offered milk and tea to the devotees.
