Ludhiana: The Dehlon police have registered a case against Haiderullah of Malerkotla on the basis of complaint filed by Gagandeep Singh. The complainant said that on January 21, Haidurulla parked his truck in the middle of the road near Sarinh bus stand without switching on the tail lights. The complainant said his 35-year-old brother-in-law was going from Dehlon to Ludhiana in his car when he rammed it into the truck as he could not see it. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. No arrest has been made so far. TNS

one held with banned string

Ludhiana: The Shimlapuri police have arrested Jyoti, a resident of Gobind Nagar, and have seized six rolls of the banned Chinese string from her. The police have registered a case under Section 223 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused. She runs a kirana store, where she had kept the banned string rolls, which she used to sell to customers.
