Industry-institution interaction held at agri varsity
A delegation from Bayer Crop Science, including Malwinder Singh Malhi and Rohit Chauhan among others, visited the School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), to interact with the final-year students of BSc (Hons) agricultural business management, preparing to undergo their industrial training. This session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the corporate world, industry expectations, and the significance of hands-on training in shaping their careers.
During the interactive session, Chauhan shared his extensive industry experience and highlighted the crucial role that industrial training played in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical implementation. He emphasised the importance of developing a strong professional attitude, acquiring technical expertise, and adapting to real-world business environments. His words inspired students to make the most of their training by actively engaging with industry professionals and gaining a deeper understanding of agribusiness operations.
Accompanying him, Dr Malhi elaborated the need for industry exposure in academic curricula. He explained how industrial training provided students a simulated environment where they could function, learn, and enhance their problem-solving abilities. He encouraged students to observe, analyse, and absorb the industry’s best practices, which would eventually help them in their professional journeys.
